Bill Johnston

Bill Johnston is a character actor at home in the classics, having played, since 1980, in a great variety of plays by playwrights as diverse as Beckett, Brecht, Shakespeare, Chekhov, Shaw,and Ron Blair.

As a foundation member of Chambers Theatre Company, over the past two years he has played the Ibsen roles of Pastor Manders (Ghosts); Dactor Rank (A Doll's House); Judge Brack (Hedda Gabler); Sir George Croft (Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession); Polonius (Shakespeare's Hamlet); and First voice in Dylan Thomas' Under Milk Wood.

Among his many teachers he is most indebted to David Myles and Graham Clarke. Last seen on television in Neighbours, he is experienced in film and television. He is also a singer and story-teller.
